Presenter:  Richard is a native English speaker and holds Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adult.  He has been teaching for young learners and businessmen since it was 2006.  Joining with us, he not only conducts CPD/CPT courses for lawyers, securities brokers, financial planners, investment advisors, accountants and other senior executives, he will also assists us on course development for Workplace English Campaign and Continuing Education Funding courses.

Course Objective : Each individual has a unique style of communication: In the legal arena, that style can be an asset or a handicap. In truth, though, few have communication skills that cannot be improved.  Even expert communicators are capable of achieving higher levels of trust and empathy, whether in one-to-one client meetings, beauty parades, new business pitches, media liaisons, and presentations to large conference. How to be an effective presenter: Effective Preparation and Delivery Skills.  The aim of this course is to provide a practical guide for commercial and corporate lawyers, bankers and other professionals to meet the needs for daily practice. We will go through our effective presentation manual and textbook “International Legal English written by Amy Krois-Linder and TransLegal, Cambridge” including

- Pre-Discussion: Experiences with presentations

 

- Preparing an Effective Oral Presentation; Organising the Content

 

- Signalling-Some Language Used in Presentations: write and Say a Presentation-Small Groups the Whole Class; peer Observation and Feedback

 

- Techniques for Capturing and Keeping The Audience's Attention (Delivery); WrapUp; Emphatic Language

 

In the workshop, individual and group exercises and presentation opportunities led by our English facilitator to improve participants’ presentation styles, tone of voice, body language etc.

 

Remark: All attendees are encouraged to email some presentation scripts to training@central-learning.com 7 days prior to the event date for in-class discussion in the workshop.  Chris  is very sophisticated in teaching English skills on Presentation, Writing, Negotiation and Meeting, as well as Telephone Skills.  In the workshop, he acts as a facilitator to point out the general English presentation technique and strategy in written documents based on the supplementary notes, textbooks and your materials
